[Axel Ward]

"Oh yeah. Here we go." Axel sat down with a grunt, sprawling casually across one of the couches. It was a good spot for him; he tended to make the chairs look a little small.

He set down the big tray of nachos on the table, halfway between himself and his friend. He didn't bother to set down his beer, though.

"Red Hawkbats are playing, right?"

Coryn took careful aim with the nerf blaster. He toyed with shooting Axel's beer, but that would be sacrilege. With a squeeze of the trigger he fired and... the holoprojector started playing.

"Oya! He shoots: he scores!"

Grabbing a handful of nachos he scarfed them before washing it down with a beer. "Yeah. First game is Red Hawkbats vs Spice Weasels. Grorsk's arm finally grew back so he's back in the mix."

The sound blared out as the pre-game began.

"Hah, nice shot." Axel grunted.

He took his own handful of nachos and drink of beer. "Ung." He grunted. "Grosk is pretty good. But you know I'm all about Zackle.

A close-up of a Zabrak, pretty but tough (or at least pretty tough), appeared on the screen, swinging her arms as she got into position. "Yeah!" Axel cheered. "Go Zackle!"

"Oh I know. You love her." He chuckled and sipped his beer. "She's pretty hot, but she's never beaten a guy with her own severed arm before."

The starter's horn blew. "Game on! There you go, she's got the ball already."

[Axel Ward]

Axel snorted. "Hey, I don't know if I'd say I love her, but..." He chuckled. "Think she'd wanna join a Mando clan? We could always ask her."

"Yeah!" He pumped a fist in the air, watching as Zackle dodged around an opponent, kicking him in the knee as she dodged past.

He kept his eyes on the game, but he nodded to Coryn. "So what'd'you think of Zeltros so far? Seems okay. Zeltrons are hot."

"Oh I know you wouldn't say it, but it's true." He grinned and cheered as Grorsk shoulder-charged the guy Zackle had just thrown the ball to. There was a crunch.

"Ooooh, that's gonna leave a mark." He downed a beer and got up for another.

"Hmm. Yeah, well, it's a planet full of hot pink aliens. I think I'd like them better without the pheromones, its fucking distracting. What about you - you found yourself a pink girlfriend, gonna settle down and... what the hell do people do here anyway... run a brothel?"

The sound of pew pew-ing echoed down the corridor followed by the scoring horn. "BOOM! That's one!"

For his part, even though Axel had certainly demonstrated that he could drink like a fish, he seemed to be taking it slower this time.

He snorted. "Yeah, right. Settle down. I tried that. Didn't work. Settling down, not the brothel, I mean." He grimaced noticeably.

The grimace turned into a frown. "But... Mandalorians are supposed to do that sort of thing sooner or later, aren't they? Resol'nare and all that."

Coryn looked at Axel over the top of the bottle. "Are we gonna have to have the talk about where baby Mandalorians come from?"

He smiled and was about to say something when the Hawkbats scored. "Boom! Holy...what a goal!"

[Axel Ward]

Axel snorted. "Nah, I-"

He broke off, yelling in shared triumph as the Hawkbats scored. "Yeah, alright! It's good that they're pulling ahead this early. That IG model droid looks like he could be trouble."

Taking a deep drink of his beer, he shook his head. "But yeah, no, I already asked Phoebe about how Mandalorians handle that." He chuckled. "You shoulda seen her face when I asked. She's cool, though."

He chuckled. "Poor Phoebe. She is the doctor though... You feeling good about this whole Clan thing?"

Coryn moved up closer to the holo and pointed at the other team's formation. "Looks like they've got a plan. Zackle better watch out."

[Axel Ward]

"Hey, don't worry." Axel said. "My girl's got a plan, too. You'll see." For now, the Red Hawkbats were falling steadily back.

He grunted. "Yeah. I guess so. It's like being in a military unit, but it's more than that, too." Phoebe calls it a family." He glanced over. "What do you think?"

Fortunately Zackle avoided the pulse emitted by the IG unit. One of her team went out like a light though, and Grorsk got his first point.

"Huh, isn't that illegal?"

He drank and looked back at Axel. "Yeah. An extended family. Eventually there'll be cousins and kids and all sorts of crazy. You won't always get on with everyone, even with your natural charm, but we'll have each other's backs and build something. Together. Also what is the ref thinking?!"

Axel snorted. "Big family, huh? My family was tiny, growing up. Me and my mom. And I still couldn't wait to move out." He nodded. "But yeah. We'll all have each other's backs. I like that."

He shook his head, grimacing. "Refs always like to see someone take a hit. They don't give a damn about illegal. Hope they get him up in time for the next play."
