(D8 LE) Takeoff Briefing

[Phoebe Wren]

"Almost makes me miss Tatooine. Almost," her tone was not as harsh as Riza's but she wasn't thrilled to go to such a frivolous place.

[Axel Ward]

Axel scowled, although it was almost a friendly scowl. "Hey, I'm sure they have sand there if you miss it. And we've got plenty of discipline here."

He chuckled, shaking his head. "Who knows, maybe it'll surprise you."

[Coryn Kusat]

"So, we're going to a planet soaked in the pheromones of persuasive purple people, to find a secret base of the worst Mandalorians to grace the galaxy? And then we're going to persuade them to give up, so we don't have to kill them all, because they're basically kids?"

He stroked his beard as he looked around the group.

"I'm sorry, but this just isn't going to make for a good song."

[Treya Laerrin]

"It certainly is a departure from our own ways," Treya admitted. She pulled up files taken from Vanito Cadera's ship, mainly snippets of footage from his daughter's messages.

"Clan Saxon won't submit, I know that much for certain. There'll be plenty of them that I wouldn't mind putting into the ground for good." Her eyes lingered on the visage of the daughter. "As for the children, we can only hope that the others are like her. Preliminary analysis shows her enjoying the training but is confused about the circumstances, not buying into their cause."

[Phoebe Wren]

"That confusion could be the key to us not having to fight them. Maybe we could even try to get in touch with those who don't seem to be buying what the Saxons are selling." Phoebe shrugged, and was already trying to think of any medical solutions she could use against the kids instead of having to fight them.

"Question is also what will happen with Clan Saxon. If we only put an end to this program, but don't do anything about them, they'll just move onto a new scheme."

[Treya Laerrin]

"The only option is annihilation of my generation among their ranks," Treya concluded, "Their descendents may not be wholly corrupted from what justice and honor demand."

[Phoebe Wren]

Well, that was harsh.

"What about Vanito Cadera himself? He's dangerous, but... well, he could be of assistance in undoing the Saxons perhaps."

[Coryn Kusat]

Coryn nodded after Treya's declaration. He raised an eyebrow at Phoebe.

"No thanks. His info already helped us. You let a man like that back into the field and all our lives are at risk." A hand went up to his neck. "I'm going to be the last person he ever tried to hang."

[Riza]

"Cadera being an asset won't be likely," Riza said, stepping forward as she began to speak. Chiming in with Coryn. "I talked to Vanito Cadera today, you give him that chance and he'll only go running for his daughter, that is, if they don't catch him first. They used his daughter to get him to do their dirty work already, and if they find out he's free they'll just manage to turn him right back against us without much of a second thought."

Riza crossed her arms, "Man said as much himself. Don't get yourself fooled, Cadera is lost. He made his bed. Clan Saxon did as well, far as I am concerned."

[Phoebe Wren]

"From what I understand of him, yes he'd want to save his daughter but he'd also be smart enough to see his chances is much better by working together with others than on his own," she retorted, so far keeping herself from getting emotional over it all.

"Saxon has basically been keeping his child as hostage against him."

[Treya Laerrin]

"If Clan Saxon held his daughter at blaster point, he would turn on us in an instant," Treya added in, "I know the man. Regardless of his intentions, he is a threat to all of us as long as he still draws breath. You saw for yourselves how much he'd endure for his daughter's sake."

She looked over to his daughter's image and frowned slightly. "We do not have the resources to keep him under guard. We will send him to the Manda via injection." She looked around the room, gauging everyone's response.

[Phoebe Wren]

Her hands clenched together in fists, as she reminded herself that this was not her issue to have a stake in. Vanito Cadera, his daughter, and that situation was not her situation. Even if it in some ways felt similar to her own.

"... I want no part in an execution," she managed to say in a calm but strained tone.

[Rose Sorenn]

Rose nodded approvingly, the man had proven too dangerous to be an ally, and too degenerate to be allowed to go free, regardless of his reasons.

[Axel Ward]

Axel scowled. "Injection? That doesn't seem right. I say we give him the choice of how he goes."

[Riza]

Riza glanced over at Phoebe, rolling her eyes before focusing back at the center of the room.

"Kill him, be done with it. Seems to me that we should give him a choice of how he dies, the man will accept that punishment far as I can tell. Offer him a choice, and then be done with it."

[Coryn Kusat]

Coryn signalled he somewhat agreed with Axel and Riza. "Yeah. I think we should give him a choice. Maybe he'd like to hang himself."
