With his pistol knocked clear and a hail of blaster bolts around him Coryn ran to the downed droid. His muscles were wrenched as he grabbed the repeater but he just gritted his teeth.

With his opponent speechless and rocked by the last shot, Coryn lined up the rifle, smiled, and pulled the trigger. There was an almighty kaboom as Kelvor went down.

The hanger bay went silent. He let the rifle sink to the ground. It was time to tend to the wounded.

Not so silent, after all. From one side of the hangar, there was the loud roar of mechanisms starting.

"PROTECT CLAN LAERRIN," a robotic voice boomed. The basilisk war droid stampeded forward, laying waste to any remaining mercs, even those bleeding out on the ground.

It turned its guns to the hunter, whom raised his hands. "Whoa, whoa there!" the hunter yelled, "Tell this thing I'm friendly, please?"

[Coryn Kusat]

Coryn watched the droid in amazement. "Jesus Toboga..." As it turned its guns on the hunter he looked at the guy.

"He's not a hostile. I don't know who is though, just keep an eye on him."

With a grimace at the state of his muscles he started to gather his gear and check on his comrades. "Hey, anyone else still standing?"

[Nekoinu]

The basilisk suddenly creaked and collapsed, going back into hibernation. "Keep an eye on him, huh?" the hunter mocked. He wiped off his rykk blade and sat back, knees on the ground and glutes on his heels.

[Coryn Kusat]

Coryn shrugged. "It seemed appropriate. I mean..." He gestured to the mess it had made. "So... Who are you anyway pal?"

He holstered his pistol, which didn't seem any worse for wear. Phoebe and Axel were nearest. They were both out for the count, but breathing.

[Nekoinu]

"A... well, friend isn't right," the hunter said. He sheathed his blade and walked over towards the console. "Let's say I'm an ally."

The hunter pulled out the Cartel mechanics by the jacket collar. "What do we do with this one?" he asked.

[Coryn Kusat]

Coryn nodded, he'd heard that sort of thing before. "Okay then, allies it is." He walked over to the console.

"The Laerrins will want to question him. Let's tie him up for now." He looked at the Cartel guy. "So, you want to spill the beans now? Before my mean angry friends wake up?"

[Nekoinu]

"I'm just a slave!" the mechanic sputtered out. He was trembling uncontrollably. "Kelvor wanted you guys dead."

The hunter tugged on the jacket collar and revealed a metallic collar. "He's not lying," the hunter said, "These things deliver a big shock. I bet it's rigged to explode too."

[Coryn Kusat]

"Oh shit. Bastard was probably lying about surrendering then." He stroked his beard a moment. "I'll go check his body. Might be he's got...had... a control device tucked away."

He walked back and started going through Kelvor's armour and pockets.

[Nekoinu]

"Nah, it'd just make his head go pop. We'd be totally fine," the hunter remarked. The mechanic, though, was certainly not pleased by the vernacular.

The control device/detonator was easy enough to find among Kelvor's belongings.

[Coryn Kusat]

Coryn laughed, maybe it was the adrenaline. "Hey, I found the control unit." Which was unusual, because he wasn't great at finding things.

"Okay let's see. Explode. No. Shock. Hmm, no. Deactivate. Yes!" He hit the control to release the mechanic.

[Nekoinu]

The hunter let go of the mechanic afterwards. His masked visage went to Coryn. After a few moments, he gave a satisfied nod and began sifting through the corpses.

"Never know what you're going to find," he remarked, "Say, pay me enough, and I'll even help dispose of them."

[Coryn Kusat]

"True. If you're looking for payment you want to talk to Treya and Rowan." His eyes flicked to the mechanic who had just been freed.

"You're welcome. Wanna tell me what just went down? Would be nice to get the backstory." He walked over to Rose and checked her wounds, then did the same for Riza.
