Good For What Ails Ya (D4EA, OPEN)

[Axel Ward]

"Mblergh." Axel muttered blearily, brushing at the slightly soapy back of his head with one hand. Scruffy and hungover certainly did apply to him right then.

On the other hand, the way he was wielding the spatula was certainly competent. He flipped the first omelette in the pan, making it sizzle. "Who's up first?" He growled.

[Phoebe Wren]

"I'll claim first omelet," Phoebe raised her hand, ready for grub.

[Axel Ward]

With a grunt, and what might have been a smile, Axel flipped the omelette one more time, and then slid it onto a plate.

"Here ya go." Axel growled, sliding the plate over towards her. It looked a bit rough, but it smelled good.

Axel scraped the pan, and rubbed fresh oil into it before pouring more egg.

Turning to Phoebe, teasingly, "what do you think? botox? a stroke? I know," she spread her hands, "behold, Axel, the man born without the muscles to smile!" The redhead grinned enough for her and Axel, laughing.

[Coryn Kusat]

An incredible smell had been discovered and started to spread throughout the room. "First waffle always looks like crap, but it'll taste divine... Who's up?" He scraped the pieces onto a plate and got on with the next one.

[Axel Ward]

Axel snorted. It was an almost laugh to go with his almost smile, which he sorta flashed towards Rose.

"All that mean you want the next one?" He asked, his voice as rough as ever.

[Rose Sorenn]

“Clearly, I only tease you to hide my uncontrollable feelings for you. You’re lucky I don’t start pulling you hair and running away,” Rose sipped her kaff, “but for sure hit me with one of those omelettes, they look tasty.”

To Coryn, “I believe our pint-sized medic has first dibs.”

[Axel Ward]

Axel chuckled, shaking his head. "Yeah. That must be it."

Still chuckling, he flipped the omelette. "Well, it's gonna be another minute, so you're gonna have to not pull my hair and run away for that long at least."

[Phoebe Wren]

"I will gladly eat the first sacrifice of the waffle-iron," she bravely volunteered after Rose had said she could have it. Everyone knew the first waffle or pancake was always the weird one.

"Waffles for the waffle-god."

[Coryn Kusat]

It was less of a waffle and more of an abstract painting, but it sure smelled good. "Here you go Phoebe, one 'waffle'. Or 'mess'. You can have a waffle-shaped one later." He chuckled and started piling up waffles as they became available.

[Phoebe Wren]

"The waffle-god accepts this tribute, even if it has the face only a mother could love," she grinned and proceeded to drown the waffle in syrup.

[Rose Sorenn]

Rose flopped dramatically over the table opposite Phoebe, “that omelette had better be worth it.” The redhead picked herself up and sipped her kaff, “I am so hungry,” she eyed the medic’s meal, “it smells so good.”

[Coryn Kusat]

"I got a waffle here for ya Rose. Mind pouring me a kaff?" Coryn's stomach growled. "Before I eat this myself..." He chuckled and started the next one.

[Phoebe Wren]

Phoebe had a mouthful of food, but it didn't stop her from speaking. "Isso gud," she mumbled with a satisifed expression. "Mm..." a pause with a swallow, "better than nutri-bars."

[Rose Sorenn]

Rose got elegantly to her feet and poured Coryn a mug of the dark brew, “anyone else, while I’m pouring? Axel? Phoebe?”

[Phoebe Wren]

"None for me, thank you. Kaff gets me all jittery," she turned down politely. What she didn't admit was that the taste of kaff wasn't something she liked yet.

[Axel Ward]

"I'd take a mug." Axel half-said, half-growled.

He flipped the omelette from pan to plate, then slid it towards Rose. "Trade ya."

He glanced around. "Any other takers?"

"Damn straight, plenty of waffles too. Well, round 1 at least." He gave Axel a grin and gestured to the growing pile of delicious waffley goodness.

[Rose Sorenn]

Rose delivered mugs of kaff to the boys and accepted her omelette, “I do like a man who can cook.” She added a pile of waffles to her plate and sashayed back to the table. Before sitting, she transferred several waffles onto Phoebe’s plate.

Axel, meanwhile, had started on another. "You're next, Kusat." He growled. "Some of those waffles better have my name on 'em."
