Axel didn't have many friends, so when one told him that she was worried about something, he was gonna take care of it.

He was fully geared up, his two-handed vibrosword close at hand. He checked his datapad. This was the place. Time to see what was up.

The landspeeder was parked some distance away so the little team would be able to make the approach carefully.

"You ever think about packing a rifle instead?" Kairi mentioned, her eyes on her attached bayonet. She checked the power cell in hers and then peered around. "Easier to adapt to the situation."

Axel shook his head. "I just focus on what I'm good at." He said.

He patted the blaster in his thigh holster. "I do carry this, just in case. Could probably use a bit more time on the range, though."

"What's your plan if we ran into a sniper? Wave you sword around like a Jedi?"

Axel shrugged. "Find another approach. With my anti-grav belt, I can climb a sheer wall. There's nowhere besides a sealed bunker that they can hide from me."

He glanced at her, smirking under his helmet. "Or I get long range support to give me some covering fire."

Having made sure that the speeders weren't easily observed at a distance, Phoebe joined the others. Geared and combat-ready, with her helmet on.

"So, what's the scenario here?" she asked, looking mostly to Axel. This seemed to be his gig.

Axel grunted. "Hopefully a rescue, but we don't know what we're dealing with yet. And probably a few people that need to be put down."

He turned to Kairi. "You wanna be point? Just like old times?"

She grunted softly, looking to the horizon.

"On your lead then."

"Why not?" Kairi led the formation closer in their target area. After she put on her helmet, she looked back at the two of them. "Usually I prefer pairs. This'll do, though."

When the team got to one of the moisture collectors, the main house was in view. There were two men standing outside, both armed with blaster carbines slung over their shoulders.

"You want to ask questions first or after?" Kairi asked. Her finger tapped the barrel of her rifle. "Hard to ask dead men anything."

"Let's talk first. As you say, dead men tell no tales," she checked the cartridge for her goo-gun one more time before holstering it again.

Axel considered that a long moment before nodding. "Okay. But they only get one chance."

Moving slowly, Axel stood, stepping into view. "Hello there." He called. A brief pause, to let them spot him.

Still slowly, he started walking towards them. "We're here for Damien." Axel yelled again, his tone firm.

The men standing outside turn over. "Well, well," one of them says, "Damien is right inside. I don't think he was expecting you.

"We were, though."

Axel kept walking forward. "Oh?" He looked back and forth between the two. "Doesn't look like you were expecting me." If they were, they'd have brought a lot more men.

"So are you gonna send Damien out? Or are you gonna make me go in there and get him?" Axel growled.

"We were just going to have a chat out here. You'll see him for a bit," one of the men said. He scratched the back of his head and smiled. "I just need you to put on some cuffs and we'll let your friends take him home."

"Oh, is that how it is?" Axel stared at them a long moment as he kept walking forward.

"Alright. Here I am." He put his wrists together in front of him, as though ready to be bound. "I'm ready, you hear me?" Hopefully his teammates would, in fact, hear him.

The other one elbowed the one that had speaking. "Wait," he said, "Disarm yourself first, right over there. Start with the blades." He spat on the ground. "Make it quick, too. Wouldn't want my friends to give Damien a hard time."

Axel glared hard at the speaker. "You gotta be kriffin' kidding me. How much of my time are you gonna waste?"

Still glaring at them, he tossed first his heavy vibroblade to the ground. Then his pistol. Then the truncheon. "Now send out Damien." He demanded.

To Phoebe, this seemed like a terrible idea. "Are we seriously doing this?" she asked quietly, eyeing Axel with her obvious scepticism.

The gangsters threw out the handcuffs onto the sand. "Behind your back and then we'll send him out, sure."

Axel was done playing these games.

"Now, Kairi." He muttered into his comms. He would take her blaster fire as a signal, his body tensing, ready to move.
