The condition was still critical, but stable now after a good amount of blood transfusion. When Cadera had been brought in, he had not been stable enough to undergo the nescessary work quite yet because he would lose too much blood in the process. So while the others had gotten their treatment, Vanito had gotten the start of his.

And now it was going to be a long night for the doctor.

"Jesus Toboga... here we go..." Phoebe murmured under her mask as the data-goggles fed her info in the overlay.

Removing the sword was the worst part; messy, heavy, fast work. But he survived through that, thankfully.

Then was the long process of picking the reinforced glass out of his face, without causing further injury to the eyes.

Vanito Cadera would live, and he would probably have difficulty seeing right the next couple of days, but at least all of his eyesight hadn't been lost for good.

"Can't say I've ever had 'shattered visor' happen to me before," Kairi remarked. She drank another bit of caf and kept her kal dagger in hand for an incision she knew how to make.

Her hand patted the broken helmet, something she had brought aboard. She had figured there could be something useful on there. Plus it was his armor, even if she did despise the man.

"Well, guess that's what happens when you go up against someone like Axel and Coryn, and you've pushed them beyond just fighting. It was pretty tense in there." Axel had been like a rancor, refusing to go down.

Phoebe sighed heavily. There was not much more she could do right now for Vanito in this condition. Pumping him full of stims wasn't a good idea either right now, as the adrenaline would probably jump-start his fighting spirit too much.

"So..." she rolled her neck before continuing, "what's your family's personal deal with this guy?"

[Kairi Laerrin]

"Vanito Cadera was a terror during the rebellion on Mandalore," Kairi explained, "He was more careful then." She looked to the man's helmet. "Something isn't right."

[Phoebe Wren]

"I can imagine," she said, moving away from the unconscious man and over to the sink to clean up. "He was on the Saxon side, and well... most on those side were ruthless bastards." As was the other side, since that's what it was like when Mandalorias fought eachother.

"Maybe something happened to him?"

Somehow, the man came through and jolted up in his bed. He relaxed afterwards, which left Kairi hovering over him with her knife.

"Would have been kinder to leave me dead," the man remarked, resting back. He blinked and then shook his head. "At least I can see now. Not much."

[Phoebe Wren]

Phoebe jumped and swore that the incident shaved off at least 10 years of her life, and was quick to reach for a syringe that would sedate him. It wasn't a strong dose as he was already so heavily medicated and sedated that a full dose would send him into a comatose most likely, but it would at least calm him down and make any potential fight hard.

"Stay still," she said firmly, but with the tone she used as a medic and not as a commander, and with Kairi as backup, applied the syringe. Thank the stars for advanced medical technology.

"There's a limit to how much I can fix in this amount of time. I'm not a miracle-worker." Said the one who had nearly whipped up a miracle-cure for a strange genetic disease earlier. "You should be able to see who's talking to you at least."

[Vanito Cadera]

"I'm honored that you think it's necessary," Vanito commented. He lied back and accepted the sedative. "My legs are giving me issues."

[Phoebe Wren]

"I'm Mandalorian. Honor is our way," she said, a touch defensive as well as with some tone of accusation. She didn't believe he knew much of honor anymore, but that didn't mean she'd have to stoop to his level.

"The sedatives should dampen any discomfort your legs are feeling now. But right now your body isn't going to be able to handle any in depth procedure."

[Vanito Cadera]

"You should have seen me in my youth," Vanito remarked with a harsh chuckle, "Someone had to save my arm from a vibrosaw. We didn't have any sedatives then nor a medbay."

[Phoebe Wren]

"Sounds like a Mandalorian medic, alright," she snorted a brief chuckle herself and checked his vitals on the screen. Having Kairi there to keep an eye on him put her somewhat at ease. She would've hated to be in here alone with him.

"At least you killed none of my brothers and sisters today, so I'm not too much in a bad mood. Can't speak for the others."

[Coryn Kusat]

Coryn walked in and approached the group. There hadn't been much point in just standing around getting in Phoebe's way. Now that Cadera was awake he figured it was past the vital point. He nodded to Kairi and Phoebe.

"Yeah he's a tough son of a gundark, I'll give him that."

[Kairi Laerrin]

"He did kill a crowd of civilians," Kairi added, still gripping her knife. She placed the helmet by his bed and shrugged. "Bit of repair work to do."

[Coryn Kusat]

"It was literally the only good thing I had to say." He shrugged. "Not just a crowd of civilians. There was the company man and his family. Those friends of Voltair's. All the security guards. And that's just Corellia. He's been murdering his way around the galaxy." Coryn looked at the mostly broken form of Vanito Cadera. "Why?"

Phoebe hadn't seen it, but didn't surprise her.

As Coryn joined in, she gave him a nod. At least he hadn't been so badly beat up that he had been ordered to bed.

"Right..." she sighed, rubbed her neck, and considered popping open the cabinet again for some of that booze.

"The Hutts caused that mess in there, not me," Vanito said. He lifted his hand and it collapsed under the weight of weakness. "As for why? Obligation, duty. Nothing excuses it but I did what I had to."

[Phoebe Wren]

"The Hutts?" Phoebe raised one eyebrow in distaste. "They weren't pulling the trigger or killing people - you were."

[Vanito Cadera]

"Did I kill anyone in there?" Vanito asked. He then closed his eyes again and frowned. "Not that I haven't killed people before."

[Coryn Kusat]

"No, you're right. I mean, you tried, but you personally didn't murder anyone for at least a few hours today. Those Cartel thugs seemed to be there to back your play though." Coryn shrugged. "And you'd already hung that Sullustan and a security guard."

[Vanito Cadera]

"Never intended on killing you until I lost my eyesight," Vanito admitted, "Most people don't escape so quickly from being hanged. Expected your friend to have to cut you down and then I'd be out."

He took a breath. "You didn't keep me alive to chastise me though, did you?"
