[Axel Ward]

Was he good? Axel doubted, but maybe if someone like Dae thought so...

"Yeah?" Axel said, his rough voice encouraging. "Like what? Lemme hear a few of them."

[Nekoinu]

"Oh, well," Daerah said, smiling a bit sheepishly. She looked at the ceiling as she figured out an answer to the question. "I could try to go to school for something. Could volunteer to help people affected by the war. And so much more."

[Axel Ward]

Axel's eyebrows went up. "School, huh? Yeah? How about that." Axel had ever had never been to school, of course.

"So come on, spill. What'd you study?" Another encouraging nod.

[Nekoinu]

"Well, I could get into psychology. I seem to have a knack for people, though maybe that would also get in the way." Daerah looked down at her food tray. "Maybe I could go into nursing or maybe some sort of doctor."

[Axel Ward]

"Yeah, okay." Axel nodded. "I could see that. Any of those. You're good with people, makin' 'em feel better. And healing 'em up, too."

He chuckled. "A doctor's a good friend to have when you're..." He cleared his throat. "Back a ways, one of my best friends was a doctor. Or he knew how to treat a wound, anyway. Think he mighta been an army medic, or something."

[Nekoinu]

"Would also make me good at business. Could maybe even do well in the holovids." Daerah smirked. "See what I mean by a wealth of options?"

The zeltron lifted an eyebrow. "Was he a doctor or medic? Two different professions."

[Axel Ward]

"What, a vid star?" Axel blinked. After a moment, he let out a breath. "I knew some girls who wanted to be vid stars." They never managed to get out of the lives they were in, though.

"Uhhh..." Axel scratched his beard. "I dunno. What's the difference? He sewed me up a few times, though. Knew about medicines and stuff." He shrugged.

[Nekoinu]

"Not a huge fan of that idea?" Daerah asked, slight twinkle in her eye.

"Well, firstly, a doctor has a degree from an accredited university."

[Axel Ward]

Chuckling, Axel shook his head. "Never knew anyone who had a real shot at it before." He studied her with narrowed eyes. "Maybe you really could. I dunno."

"I'm guessing he was a medic, then." Axel shrugged. "I don't know a whole lotta people who went to university. Accredited or otherwise." What did accredited even mean?

[Nekoinu]

"That isn't a big vote of confidence," Daerah said with a smirk.

"The real question is whether or not he wore one of those fancy, white coats," the zeltron asked with a smile.

[Axel Ward]

"Hey, what do I know?" Axel spread his hands. "I don't know any vid stars. The only vids I saw usually had some guy doing a bunch of jump kicks or something. But hey." He chuckled. "If you do become a famous vid star, write me from time to time, huh?"

That got a laugh from Axel. "Yeah, okay. I shoulda known that was the difference. Nah, he had this frock with weird stains." Axel grimaced. "Why I let this man operate on me, I suddenly don't know."

[Nekoinu]

"It's a random idea. I don't think I'd like it too much. Did enough pretending in my life." Daerah shrugged. "I just figure I had the face for the vids."

She smiled warmly. "Well, sometimes you do what you gotta do. Like how I'm going to ask you to let me put the tray down or have you carry it if we're going to keep talking."

[Axel Ward]

After briefly flickering his gaze away, Axel looked back with a smile. "Hey, if it's on looks, no problem. You know you're gorgeous." And alas, far too good for a killer like him. "I just haven't seen you act. Or do jump kicks." He patted his chest. "I could show you how to do jump kicks if you want." He joked.

Axel smiled sheepishly. "Sure. I'll get that." Reaching out, he carefully took the tray from her. "Where are you headed?"

[Nekoinu]

Daerah's lips turned crooked into a wry smile. "You should see other zeltron," she suggested, "Maybe then I'd be less special." It was meant to be a joke, but there was some bit of angst there too.

"This was meant for Kairi, actually," she said. She shrugged. "She looked kind of tired. And, well, I got distracted talking with you."

[Axel Ward]

"You're not the first Zeltron I've met." Axel said simply.

"Oh." He looked down at the tray. "Yeah, she said she was gonna sleep. I could drop it off real fast, we could hang out in the lounge for a few or something?"

[Nekoinu]

"Hm," Daerah mused, sucking back her lips for a bit. She remained silent for a few moments and then shrugged. "I'll take your compliment then."

The zeltron shrugged again. "Sure. I've got nowhere else to be, really. Corellia isn't exactly my type of place either. That might make the holovid thing harder."

[Axel Ward]

Axel snorted. "Not my type of place either. Gang wars is just the sort of thing I tried to get away from." He let out a breath. "Seems like anywhere you get enough sentients, you get that sort of thing, though."

He slipped inside, dropping off the tray as quietly as a man of his size could, and slipping out equally quietly.

"So..." Axel said, beginning to lead the way back to the lounge. "What is your kind of place?"

[Nekoinu]

"My kind of place is one with a bit more peace and quiet nowadays," Daerah answered without much delay. She looked up at the ceiling again in thought. "Maybe Dantooine. Heard it's nice over there."

[Axel Ward]

"Huh." Axel nodded. "Yeah, I get that. I spent some time on Takodana. It was pretty quiet."

A few turns, and they were in the lounge. "But... I dunno. It wasn't quite what I wanted."

[Nekoinu]

"Did they have good tacos?" Daerah asked. She seemed to be excited at the prospect.

Her expression then turned a bit more serious. "Too quiet for you, huh?"
