Sour Patch Kid (D11, EN)

After hitting the refresher after mission, Phoebe settled in for sleeping on one of the comfy couches in the lounge. Not that it looked like she was looking to sleep there, as she was just wearing her regular comfy clothes. She just had no plans of buttings heads with Riza again in their room, and had just decided to leave well enough alone for now.
Whatever.
Sighing, she sprawled out on one of the couches as she turned on the holo. "Ugh, why is it only Zeltron holo-novelas on now?"

Orella came into the lounge and went for the bar. She fingered through the bottles and then sighed. "Is it too soon to take a 'pre-battle' shot, vod?" she asked over her shoulder. She then turned around and glanced over to the holoplayer. "What's on?"

Phoebe watched Orella with a curious eye since she went straight for the bar, but hey, who was she to judge if someone had pre-battle jitters.
"Maybe? Depends on when we're heading out in the morning, vod," she replied, propping herself up on her elbows before scooting up into a sitting position on the couch. "Only trash, really. Like most of the entertainment here."
She looked Orella over. "Nervous?"

"Night operation, actually. We need to check in with the other clans first." Orella left the alcohol for the time being and stood by the couch. "We could watch something from my collection if you like."

"Sure. Anything is probably better than this overacted drama." A woman on screen was making a huge scene as she was crying after learning that her sister was now pregnant with the ghost of their mother's dead boyfriend, who had been sleeping with all three women.
It was a confusing and weird storyline, and Phoebe was sure she had missed some of the details there.
"The other clans, huh?" The thought made her both excited and worried. Would there be fellow Mandalorians there who had a chip on their shoulder because of her parents? "So, it's going to be a big op with all of us?"

"Hey, at least they managed to get the movie out there, right?" Orella remarked with a small smile. She went up to a drawer and started to peruse her own collection. "We could watch a documentary or something a bit more fun. Gosh, I've watched too many Mandalorian flicks of both varieties."
Orella looked back up. "I thought everyone had briefed on this. Oh well." She took a breath. "Everyone we can spare, that is."

Phoebe wasn't sure if whatever the Zeltrons were doing was a movie. It seemed more like some serialized string of unlikely events that had been running since the dawn of time.
"Something more fun sounds good - not really in the mood for documentaries... though never a Mandalorian documentary. They really make those?" What in the blazes would a Mandalorian documentary be like?!
"Hmm... do you know which clans are coming in for this?"

"We certainly made our own, though I'd say the more accurate ones are those made by more scholarly-focused societies. We have a tendency to embellish details for the sake of glory." She left out the whole 'covering up war crimes' aspect too.
Orella shrugged. "You can look over the list if you want. Unless you have a specific one in mind?"

"Not really," Phoebe shrugged, "I was kind of just planning originally on flipping through the channels to see if anything interesting was on before falling asleep on the couch. So whatever you think is cool, go ahead."
"Is tomorrow your first time?"

"I've fought before," Orella replied, "But I've never been at ease with the whole idea."

"Hmmm..." Phoebe stretched out on the couch, placing her arms behind her head. "It's probably a weird question, but how come? People tend to have different reasons why they have qualms about fighting."

"Seems like a waste most of the time," Orella mentioned, "And just holding the blaster, pulling the trigger. Putting someone down isn't like shooting at the range at all."

"Well, I agree with that," Phoebe nodded. "Killing isn't something done easily. But as a culture of warriors, it is in our blood, so to speak."

"But how many times have we chosen it as the first option rather than as a last resort?" Orella sighed and looked through her holovids. "It doesn't matter, anyways. What must be done will be done, for the sake of the clan and my family."

"Not saying I disagree, or that it's wrong what you're thinking," Phoebe clarified. "It's just a hard balance to find in a warrior culture, though I still don't know which direction we will go in as a whole with the current Mandalore."

"That is what I fear most," Orella admitted. She pulled out a copy of The Passion of Tobaga. After a few moments of consideration, she shook her head and placed it back. "I imagine I wouldn't have been recruited if I hadn't been born into it myself."
