Learn from the Past (D1LM)

[Axel Ward]

"Yeah, it is." Chuckling, Axel gave her a nod. And, goodness, even a bit of a smile. "How about that, huh?"

"So..." He frowned. "I appreciate it. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you, huh?"

[Inali]

"Okay." She grinned. "Thanks, Axel." She reached up a hand to brush a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Was there anything else you wanted to chat about?"

[Axel Ward]

"Uh..." Axel scratched his head. Not really. But being asked that, he felt as though he should make some effort to be friendly.

"... how's it going with you, here? You fitting in well?" He asked.

[Inali]

"Well, as probably the one person on the ship not skilled in weapons, it's been a bit of a adjustment. It's gone well so far though."

She folded her legs underneath herself on the couch. "Of course my parents were both the mercanary types as well. So it wasn't really much of one."

[Axel Ward]

"Yeah?" Axel stood casually, crossing his arms easily over his chest. "So how'd that happen? Both your parents were mercenaries, didn't teach you how to fight? You ever want to learn?"

[Inali]

"It was a bit odd, but we Chiss don't have the same long childhoods you do. So it changes things a little bit. I saw enough people injuried in my youth not to want to have any part of it."

She shrugged. "I told them so, and I suppose they respected my decision well enough to agree to it. I mean I still know how to shoot a blaster of course, but my training doesn't go much farther."

[Axel Ward]

Axel grunted. "Huh. Guess so." He saw lots of people hurt in his childhood, too. But of course, his parents couldn't protect him.

He shrugged. "But I guess you know this sort of life already. Were your parents like the Laerrin? Mandalorians?"

[Inali]

"No, though they worked alongside Rowan and Treya on several occasions. It's how I got to know the family." She quirked a smile.

"They're mostly retired now, or I think Rowan or Treya would of invited them along. But they've more or less left the life behind."

[Axel Ward]

"Huh." Axel grunted acknowledgement. "Alright."

After a few moments, Axel shrugged. "Well, hey. Thanks for the info. I appreciate it." He gave her a nod. "Lemme know if there's anything you need sometime, huh?"

[Inali]

"Will do." She replied with a easy smile.

"Enjoy your day Axel."

[Axel Ward]

Axel nodded. "Yeah, you too, Inali."

With a casual wave, he walked from the room.
