Clan Laerrin

It was a short trip out to the old Harrington Mining facility only an hour or so by speeder across near endless sand dunes. The rocky outcropping the operation was built upon was well visible from a few miles out, apparently the only place like it in the area.

Closer inspection revealed that it was indeed abandoned, the desert already starting to reclaim parts on it.

"Looks like we're here." Alister offered as he parked the speeder near the entrance. "Everyone ready?"

Rose tapped on the grips of her blasters and adjusted the hood of her thermal cloak. "Ready," she answered.

"I'm good to go." Coryn patted his GALAAR-15 and then adjusted his goggles. "Keep an eye out for big lizards."

He moved up alongside the others, ready to get going. It was hard to tell how long the place had been abandoned. This sand got everywhere.

Inali straightened her own pouches and pat the blaster pistol at her side. "I'm good to go!" She offered cheerfully. It might be recently abandoned, but it was history. How could she resist?

"Alright, let's go then." Alister grumbled as he checked his own things and dismounted the speeder.

"Probably best we stay together, though it will make this search take a bit longer."

"Makes sense, until we know if the place has any uninvited guests." Coryn took point, moving slightly ahead of the others just in case the shit hit the fan.

Rose let Coryn take point, but she was alert and ready to draw her blasters at a moment's notice.

Alister took the rearr of the group, leaving Inali in the middle near rose. The Chiss woman was looking around wiith a sense of excitement. She really didn't get to do much actual exploring, but the group of Mandolortians allowed for it even if just this once.

As they approached the facility, bits of deitritus was visible, sign that the peopel ehre left and the early, the door was clsoed though, or at least it appeared to be from where they were standing.

"Looks like they remembered to close the main door at least." Probably meant the place wouldn't be full of marauding Massifs.

He wondered if there were any alternative entrances to the facility. They could cross that bridge if the main doors were jammed. Calmly he walked up to them and took a closer look.

Joining Coryn, the redhead cast a critical eye over door controls. If it was electronic, there probably wasn’t much she could do, but if it was mechanical, that would be a different story.

Hoping for good salvage, Rose had her pack with her, and her tool kit was in there, ready to dismantle some things if the opportunity arose.

Luckily the door was mechanical, and could likely be opened without power It might take a bit of effort but not too much. ((Avergae Difficulty with a toolkit)) As for alternate entrance, in a place like this that was quite likely and with minimal looking one can probably be found.

"Do you think you can get in?" Inali asked, eyes wide as she watched the other two work. "With the power off and everything?"

Rose unshouldered her pack and took out a hydrospanner, “let’s see what we’re working with.” Unfortunately, sweet talk wasn’t going to cut it, something in the works kept jamming on her, like trying to open the kitchen drawer where the potato masher was kept.

Coryn took a quick look for alternatives but none leapt out. "I can give the door a try if you like? Might be another entrance but I don't see anything obvious just yet."


Day 3. Haunted Places. Perception for another entrance. Boost from goggles. Easy check from description?: 2eA+1eB+1eD 0 successes

The door remained stuck shut, it seemed like the mechanisms got sand in them, and unfortunately it wouldn't open.

As for a secondary entrance, Coryn didn't spot one, but he did see a shadowed area to the right, perhaps it held some secrets?

“Sure, swapsies,” Rose offered him the toolkit if he wanted it, glancing around.

Rose can tell that the patch of shadows that Coryn spotted isnt shadow at all, but a secondary entrance. It was likely left open in the rush to leave, though it could mean someone has been here before them.

Probably Jawas if that's the case.

"...or," the redhead added as her eyes acclimated to shadows, "wait, is that open?"

A few seconds with Rose's kit and he got the door mechanism working. "I think you loosened it up for me."

Rose pulled a face like she’d eaten something gross, her expression still hidden by the helmet, I bet other people think he’s hilarious. “What matters is it’s open, but I wouldn’t count on it being deserted.”
